The Washington Township Planning Department’s primary responsibility is to review applications for land development, subdivisions, residential/non-residential developments, and to ensure that the applicant has complied with the Washington Township’s Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance 167. Washington Township does not have Zoning Laws.
The Planning Department also works to ensure that the Township is developed in a manner that maintains the rural setting of Washington Township.
They will assist applicants with their plans and advise them of changes that may be required to comply with the Township’s Ordinances. Once a Plan is complete, the Planning Department will recommend approval of the plan to the Washington Township Board of Supervisors. The Township Supervisors’ will give approval or denial of the final plan.
